25 November 2011 is 36th anniversary of Srefidensi. Srefidensi is the best word that gives perfect meaning of Independence exactly. Yes Srefidensi is also a Sranan Tongo word.
The Suriname Government decided to complete defilé – the Military Parade – in the afternoon. All activities held at Onafhankelijkheids Plein (Independent Square) in Paramaribo, Suriname / South America.
My series of photos includes the parachute team jumps, early preparation of Onafhankelijkheids Plein (Independent Square) and the Military Parade -defilé / Onafhankelijkheidsdefilé -.
The sky was more closed and more dark over Paramaribo and the powerful tropical washer started just before 17:00 o’clock. The President of Suriname His Excellencies Desiré Delano Bouterse didn’t stopped his walk for official / military ceremony and he saluted soldiers, policies and guest military teams from Brazil and French Guyana under heavy rain. Almost everyone, all participants -even me – were totally wet.
I used sort of lenses but most of frame captured with my AF Nikkor 35mm f/2.0D, Zeiss Makro-Planar T* f/2 100mm ZF.2 manual focus lens plus Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC. My Nikon D2Xs saved me perfectly under – incredibly – heavy rain.
Hope you like it. All the best,
Nicely done. Thanks fro sharing.
