Eid al-Adha 2011 in Suriname Hindustani Muslims

PLEASE BE AWARE SOME PART OF THIS SLIDE SHOW MAY CONTAIN GRAPHIC IMAGES

SMA – Suriname Muslim Association – Eid al-Adha (AKA Eid ul-Adha or “Festival of Sacrifice” or “Greater Eid” ) celebration started with traditional worship at their Livorno complex by Surinamese Hindustani Muslim community and continued at the Masjid Oemar Faroek, located at Leiding 9A on Commissaris Weytinghweg in Paramaribo, Suriname / South America at 6th of November 2011.

Eid al-Adha is an important religious holiday celebrated by Muslims worldwide to commemorate the willingness of Abraham (Ibrahim) to sacrifice his son Ishmael (Isma’il) as an act of obedience to God, before God intervened to provide him with a ram to sacrifice instead. Please visit Wikipedia, for more info about Eid al-Adha

I used sort of lenses but most of frame captured with my Zeiss Makro-Planar T* f/2 100mm ZF.2 manual focus lens plus Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D AF, AF Nikkor 35mm f/2.0D and Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC.

I posted an earlier article that include Eid Ul-Adha 2011 Suriname with Javanese Muslims

Hope you like it. All the best,
