I went to Sunday Market of Landbouwmarkt Kwatta ( Stichting Ing. Shiwakoemar Kisoensingh Landbouwmarkt Kwatta ) AKA Markt Kwatta, Kwatta Zondags Markt, Kwattamarkt in Dutch and Farmers or Agricultural Market in English, located on Kwattaweg 137, today, Sunday 29th April 2012.
Farmers and other sellers shows and sells their products on their stands. Landbouwmarkt Kwatta is famous by area and also gets many shoppers from all parts of Paramaribo. That’s why the management started an extension with additional parking facilities.
I saw an Indian ( Hindustani ) religious groups performing at front of Landbouwmarkt Kwatta while I’m thinking to return home. They were playing and singing Hare Krishna and an elder lady was praying around them and the new holy statue. The holy song Hare Krishna reminds me a famous Turkish rock singer Erkin Koray’s same name song in Turkish. You may listen here too >>>
I saw also a nicely colored bicycle, blood (probably diabetic) and blood pressure test given freely by the market management.
The lights in the market gives limited possibility. My post includes approximately 80 photos. I captured all A Sunday Market at Landbouwmarkt Kwatta in Paramaribo with my Nikon D2Xs while using sort of lenses ;
- Carl Zeiss Makro-Planar T* f/2 100mm ZF.2 manual focus lens.
- Nikkor 35mm f/2.0D AF
- Nikkor 50mm f/1.4D AF
- Sigma 10-20mm F4-5.6 EX DC
All photos converted from NEF (Nikon’s RAW format) to JPG and resized with Capture NX2 in batches without any manual touch.
