11th year of Bigi Broki Waka held on Jules Wijdenbosch Bridge at 5th of January 2014 in Paramaribo, Suriname / South America.
Walkers, runners, photographers, everyone arrived to the entrance of Jules Wijdenbosch bridge’s Paramaribo leg very early hours of the morning. I was surprised with full of parking lots while cycling.
The organization transported participants to opposite side of the Jules Wijdenbosch Bridge’s Meerzorg leg with number of buses. Also the police and military were very well arrange to protect and organize the bridge and roads for the participants. The Jules Wijdenbosch Bridge was close to vehicles during the event for safety of walkers and runners.
I was mostly interested the panoramic view of Paramaribo during sunrise as I did personally few times before.
We started to walk and climb to the peak of Jules Wijdenbosch Bridge around 05:45 AM. We were at top of Jules Wijdenbosch Bridge at 06:00 AM. Everyone started to capture moments immediatly while preapering their cameras and other gears for expecting sunrise. The sky didn’t allow us nice, mix of reddish and yellowish sunrise captures as I captured many times before some where :) Waiting For Sun – Ertugrul Kilic

My post includes approximately 150 photos. I captured all “ 11th Bigi Broki Waka – Walking On The Big Bridge “ in Paramaribo, Suriname / South America photos with my Leica M ( Type 240 or M10 ) while using sort of lenses ;
- Carl Zeiss Makro-Planar T* f/2 100mm ZF.2 manual focus lens.
- Nikkor 35mm f/2.0D AF
with an adapter from Fotodiox. My series of captures ends with a final frame at one of local Sunday market as usual.
All photos converted from Leica M’s native RAW format DNG to JPG with RAWKER in a batch without any manual touch or changing any settings except adding little sharpness.
RAWKER is a freeware raw converter for MacOS X 10.4 and later (Keep it simple)
I wish happy and very prestigious new year to all – Wan boeng nyun yari !
